Become a volunteer or help out with an event

Every kid has potential.  They just need a helping hand.

There are many ways to give, but none have greater impact on youth than building confidence, teaching life skills and helping plan for a great future.  The Club difference is that we understand where every kid is coming from, where they can go – and we have trained youth development professionals who can help them get there.  Join us and feel the difference you’re making every day.

The safety of our Club members is our top priority.  To ensure their safety all adult volunteers must complete a thorough vetting and background screening process.  All volunteers (and employees) must undergo background checks to scan the Sex Offender Registry and other databases.  There is a $40 background check fee that the volunteer must pay up front.  Upon completion of your volunteer commitment your $40 will be reimbursed.  Youth under 18 must become members to volunteer.  Keep in mind that Club hours are the afternoons Monday-Friday during the school year.  We have expanded hours during school breaks.  There are special event and project opportunities on the weekends.  It is important that the volunteer experience is both beneficial to our members and you the volunteer.  Program volunteers must make a commitment of a minimum of 3 hours of volunteer service per week for at least 3 months of service.  Choose from one of 4 volunteer journeys below.  To be a program volunteer at the Club:

  1. Complete the Volunteer Application.
  2. Complete an interview with the Site Manager
  3. Complete a background check through Fingerprinting Authority for $40. Volunteers must pay for their own background checks, once the fee has been paid the LiveScan Application will emailed with further instructions. (This will be sent to you within 5 – 7 business days after the receipt of this form) ***Other background & health screenings may be required for certain locations.***
  4. View a virtual recorded volunteer orientation covering policies, procedures, expectations and safety.
  5. Complete & sign the following documents: Volunteer Waiver and Keeping Members Safe Pledge. (These will be sent virtually for a digital signature following a completed orientation.)

Once we have received your completed volunteer application, we will reach out to you within 5 – 7 business days at the email address you have provided to go over the next steps.

Volunteer at the Club

Make a direct impact by volunteering at one of our Club locations.  Some ways you can make a difference include tutoring, coaching, and leading classes and activities.

Under 18 Volunteers

Youth may join the Boys & Girls Club as a way to volunteer.  In the Club’s leadership and service program, Leaders in Training, teens learn important life skills while helping at the Club and in the community.

Help with a fundraising event.

Help out the day of an event or join a fundraising committee.  You can make a difference by helping raise the funds to keep Club operations going year round.  Teens and adults welcome.

Community Service Projects

Full service Clubhouses require a lot of love to keep them in the best condition for our youth.  Lend your skills and talents, individually or in a group, by lending a hand with repairs, painting, and projects.
