Local Businesses Offer Support for Club Programs
The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley is especially grateful for the Henry Mayo Newhall Foundation's generous donation of $30,000 towards our educational programs.
Thank you to Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Employees' Reaching Out (AERO) Club, which provided $5,000 to benefit the nutrition program. Donations were provided by contributing employees of the Lockheed Martin facility in Palmdale.
JC Penney donated $4,000 toward our programs for local kids. The money was collected through various campaigns where customers can choose to round up their purchases to the next dollar and have the change benefit the Club.
We are so grateful to all of our benefactors for their tremendous partnership!
Club Supporters Gather for Annual Celebration
Every December, the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley sponsors a Holiday Luncheon to appreciate all those who support the Club. On Dec. 4 at the Newhall Clubhouse, wonderful food was provided by Clubhouse parents, including the much-anticipated annual homemade tamales. Attendees also heard from alumnus Veronica (Navarro) Bayer, who serves as the human services coordinator for the City of Santa Clarita.
She was welcomed by Jim Ventress, chief professional officer for the Club, who showed off some old news clippings and stories of Navarro’s days at the Club. Bayer spoke of the Clubhouse “making her dreams come true” and recounted many wonderful memories.
